These provocative Photo Essays were created on Sunday and Tuesday, September 25th and 27th, 2016 during two visits to new Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture, Washington DC by painter-photographer, Bill Doggett
What distinguishes many of the images I created below is a provocative, if not extraordinary …‘interaction‘ between the subjects: e.g. the visitor….and the viewed… as if a direct eye-to-eye communication across the centuries between one another.
Note, the photographic process for creating these imageswas complex. My technique included long one-two minute dragged shutters, aperture priority and extremely focused non obstrusive timing.
